So, the fourth and final season of Battlestar Galactica is finally here. Season three ended in a major cliff hanger with members of the Galactica crew realizing that they had been cylons from the very beginning. Starbuck’s viper had been destroyed when she followed a cylon heavy raider into a vortex. She mysteriously re-appeared in the middle of a major battle between the colonial fleet and the cylons.
I had intended to post an entry about BSG last night, but Network Solutions had some kind of MySQL problem again) and nothing was working. I really need new more reliable hosting. maybe next week I’ll bounce back to Pair Networks
Starbuck Returns:
Starbuck appears out of nowhere in a brand new viper announcing that she had been to earth. She even has gun camera footage which she refers to as “vacation photos”. No one believes her except Lee and many suspect she is a cylon. As the fleet makes a series of FTL jumps following the course they believe will lead them to earth, Starbuck becomes more erratic. Seems Starbuck is willing to assassinate the president in order to steer the fleet to earth.
Anders, Colonel Tigh, Tory and the Chief wrestle with the fact that they are cylons:
Anders suits up to pilot a viper, just before launch He worries that Sharon will recognize him as a fellow cylon. During a dog-fight a cylon raider seems to recognize Anders as a cylon and breaks off the attack. Colonel Tigh has visions of assassinating Adama right in the middle of the Galactica CIC. Boomer already tried that, the old man is pretty tough.
While Anders seems to have a larger part in the global plot this season, Tory seems pretty uninteresting. She mostly sits in a chair and nods in agreement with the others revealed to be cylons. She always was a “yes man”.
The Chief seems to be the voice of reason for the four newly realized cylons. Strange that it was such big deal that karl Agathon and Sharon had a hybrid baby when the chief and Callie also have a baby who would logically also be half cylon (unless Callie is the last of the final five cylons).
Baltar becomes The Messiah:
After being acquitted of treason at trial, Baltar is ushered into a unused compartment aboard Galactica in which a group of Baltar worshipers have taken up residence. Just like Jim Jones. Baltar has conversations with Six (who looks incredible this season) and prays to the one true god to spare the life of a sick child. Baltar is attacked by survivors of new Caprica in the head. When the child makes a miraculous recovery the “Cult of Baltar” is certain of his divinity.
